Whatever happens, may the Lord give you joy

"WHATEVER happens, dear brothers and sisters,
may the Lord give you joy...
We put no confidence in human effort.
Instead, we boast about what Jesus Christ has done for us."

This is exactly what we need to be focusing on right now as a family. Through the blessings and disappointments we encounter, we are to lift our eyes above our circumstances and see the joy we have in the Lord.

  • In the same day that Patricia finds out she has a large tumor, she was accepted into Oxford for Grad school (her dream school).
  • In the midst of the stress of selling our home and figuring out where to go, we have a little boy who delights our hearts with his ever smile.
  • While Austin is struggling over his company and career direction, I am blessed with a great job with wonderful people who truly care about us.
So we throw it all into God's open hands knowing that all of our anxieties are the weight of a dust fleck to Him. I can rest in that.

On a lighter note... Will started crawling!!! It has been so fun to watch the progression. He's so proud of himself! He smiles that toothless smile that makes us all laugh :) I love that boy!

The Gerber Baby

We are so incredibly blessed with wonderful people to watch Will! Our nanny's name is Meghan and Will adores her (and so do we!). She watches Will 2 days a week and my Mamma watches him the other 2 days :)

My desire is to be with Will more myself, but until that can happen, we are SO lucky to have my awesome Mamma and Meghan watch him!!! Something Meghan and Mamma do for me is take pictures of Will. Here is one of our favorites Meghan recently took... She said he looked like the Gerber baby, and we had to agree :)

Bath time is my favorite!

Probably my favorite moments with my wee-one
have been spent with him in the water.

He started out in the bathroom sink,
moved on to the baby tub lying on a pad,
and is now sitting up and splashing in his baby bath.
I'm sure it won't be much longer until he is
in the full sized tub getting the rest of us
as wet as him!

What a joy he is. I had no idea...

Apple Pickin' good time

We had a blast last weekend! We went apple picking in North Ga with the Habecks. With the babies wrapped up in warm clothes and blankets we enjoyed the sunny but chilly fall weather :) Audrey and Austin milked a cow, we watched pig races, apple cider doughnuts being made and of course... picked apples! Afterr eating fresh apple fritter, apple cider doughnuts and drinking apple cider... we were all a little bit sick! But it was all SO good!
